Dr. Terry L. Bonds, O.D.

Dr. Terry L. Bonds is a 1981 Optometric graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham Medical Center. He did his undergraduate work in math and chemistry at the University of Alabama at Huntsville.

Dr. Bonds has lived in Calhoun County since 1981. His father also lives in Jacksonville. Dr. Bonds has two sons, Gaige and Ian.

In 1987 and 1989, Terry was selected as National Alumnus of the Year by the University of Alabama Medical Center Optometry Alumni. He was selected for the Medical Center Deans Award in 1988. He was National Optometry Alumni President in 1995. UAB Magazine featured Dr. Bond's practice nationally in one1995 issue.

Dr. Bonds' office has been featured in Review of Optometry. Dr. Bonds is a member of the American and Alabama Optometric Associations. Terry was the President of the Alabama Optometric Association in 1998. Dr. Bonds won the Alabama Optometrist Of The Year 2005-2006.

In addition to his private practice, Terry travels to lecture, teach, and act as an eye health practice consultant. Dr. Bonds has earned the AOA National Optometric Recognition Award eleven times since 1987 for excellence in continuing education. Generally, fewer than 400 American eye doctors receive this recognition each year. Rarely do you find an eye doctor so dedicated to his patients and his staff. We are truly lucky to have Terry as part of our community.
